You may have seen a few weeks ago that landmarks across the UK lit up blue in support of the NHS and its workers tackling the current COVID19 pandemic. Amongst the London venues to join the initiative was Royal Museum’s Greenwich venue, Queen’s House.
Royal Museums Greenwich (RMG) which is made up of The Queen’s House, Cutty Sark, National Maritime Museum and the Royal Observatory Greenwich have also found a way to support the NHS in the fight against COVID19. Their conservation teams managed to gather a large stock of PPE- Personal Protective Equipment (usually used by the museums conservation team) from across their five museums which they then delivered to the local Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Greenwich.
The initiative has now been shared with museums and galleries the length and breadth of the UK and all are responding in similar way. Well done to the team at RMG!
